A beautiful Mid Century oil on canvas painting signed by the Swedish Artis Gunnar Perrson. It's a lovely calm interior scene of a table; the brush strokes are kept very simple by only using horizontal and vertical lines. It represents a very typical setting of a Swedish home.
The painting is in its original frame which adds to its charm and there is very little wear to the item.

Gunnar Persson was born in 1908 in Stockholm, and died 1975, he was a Swedish painter. Persson studied at Gottfrid Larsson's painting school in Stockholm 1928-1931 and during study trips to Italy, France, Spain and Greece. Together with Herbert Stenberg, he exhibited several times at Gummeson's art hall and separately he exhibited, among other things, on Color and Form, Modern art in the home environment and at the Artist's House.
He participated in exhibitions with the Dalarna Art Association, Sweden's General Art Association and Liljevalch's Stockholm salons. His art consists of painted street motifs from Paris, Swedish landscapes and flower still life. Persson is represented at the Moderna museet in Stockholm
